Period of silence…haven’t been updating due to time spent on developments and progress with MVMSYSTEM application.
Since Feb. We have done two major changes involving Management discussions. How did we reach this without actually , physically meeting around a solid table…???? We meet regularly around a virtual table. All IT department, programmers and the leading partners are usually in different locations worldwide dealing with installations, clients or future markets. We talk regularly using Skype as a major platform conducting conference meetings online with an average of 6 persons. I.T. and programmers meet physically once a week that is a venue that cannot be replaced or virtualized from our experience of a period prior to Feb. 2010.
Communication is the essence and the back-bone for bringing forward the application.
What were the two decisions we made and more important set forward and implemented.
1. Change of Hosting and Server from WEBFUSION to RACKSPACE.
2. Implementing ISM and ISPS within the application as a main component and not as an add-on module.
GREAT SYSTEM for monitoring and totally free. We highly recommend such services for your sites. You must be aware to a problem prior to your clients.
We forwarded logs of downtime to WEBFUSION and all we received was a reply turning responsibility to us, the client.
All I can say, this lead us immediately to examine the market and search for the highest recommended Server companies in blogs and forums.
We knew Cheap doesn’t work. As we paid for a product that could not be supplied with a reliability and support as we required for our clients.
We opted for RACKSPACE and negotiated a server with them on a monthly base. We didn’t want to be roped in without having a few months experience.
We are entering our third month with RACKSPACE in the UK and can only say 101% service and reliability. Excellent service, support, professional approach. The price per month is similar to the annual figure at WEBFUSION but we cannot compromise with quality to our clients. Reliability is everything and that’s uptime 100% as a base value.
Basically what RACKSPACE offers is what you get and more!!!!
Once we managed to stabilize the platform and trust it to supply the application for our clients we looked at the feed backs from the pilot and version 1.0
We saw a line running through the feedbacks from different clients. They wanted to work with ISM and ISPS on MVM as one unit. It seemed logical as the maintenance side is a large and important part in any SMM .
We decided to do the change and incorporate ISM and ISPS as built in .
Each Captain, Chief Mate, Chief Engineer ,DPA,CSO could take the system and start immediately working with it . He can change, delete, edit add or subtract and in doing so, personalize MVM to his liking!
Each management company, owners could input there Standing orders, remarks etc…
Class and Flag can add their remarks and highlight procedures as easy as “PLUG & PLAY”
All this, and more, with the direct support of MVMSYSTEM and the years of experience in the field and with the ISM and ISPS Codes.
